Wildlife World is a zoo set within the grounds of Lotherton — a country estate on the outskirts of Leeds. It is home to a wide variety of animals, from Humboldt penguins to tapirs and porcupines. It also plays an important role in delivering education and championing conservation.
Discovering animals from across the globe
In 2017 Lotherton redeveloped the existing bird garden, with the intention of creating a more modern and diverse visitor experience. We were appointed to create a new brand and opening campaign for the newly badged ‘Wildlife World’, which could work as both a stand-alone attraction and as part of the wider offer at Lotherton.
We wanted the identity to be fun, playful and able to capture the personalities of the animals at Wildlife World. To do this, we produced a series of illustrations that interact with the bold but friendly typography. Although the style is a departure from the broader appeal of the Lotherton identity, the shared colour palette and angled elements tie the two together.
As part of our ongoing work with Wildlife World, we have produced interpretation signage, advertising and merchandise.
