In 2021 South Square completed a major renovation project supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. While the 200 year old, grade II listed building was refurbished inside and out, we were tasked to develop a new identity and signage scheme. Our design needed to represent the eclectic range of artisan tenants and work for visitors of all ages. With such a rich heritage, we felt it was also important to show restraint in our work — the end result needed to be as timeless as the building.
