Our task was to create a new brand for the estate that would appeal to the existing loyal audiences, whilst also attracting new types of visitors, who may not usually consider Temple Newsam for a day trip. The brand needed to acknowledge the heritage of the estate whilst ensuring all visitors feel welcome.

We created an identity with an established feel, but without a level of grandeur that could put off some visitors. The brand uses a ‘quatrefoil’ shape which references architecture and objects found throughout the grounds — including the picturesque water fountain outside the house. This device was designed as a shorthand version of the main logotype and is used as a decorative element throughout the estate signage.
